Clinical Technology Analyst

Under the direct supervision of the Director of IT, the Clinical Technology Analyst L2 is a leader in the exploration, selection, implementation, support and education of assigned clinical technology applications, devices and workflows.

Help lead communication between IT and other operational groups and/or project sponsors/managers with the goal of achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

Act as a leader for the team responsible for the exploration, analysis and selection of clinical computing systems in assigned areas.

Lead or assist in the project management of the implementation of clinical systems.

Help lead successful implementations of the system by conducting system configuration, acceptance testing, and follow-up support and training, as needed.

Provide continuous system consulting and overall leadership as it relates to assigned clinical technology applications and devices.

Travel to other sites to observe and learn user workflows, processes and any applicable inefficiencies in order to develop improvements in these areas.

Recommends plans for change management in relations to transition to new or upgraded systems.

Manages and allocates resources to multiple projects, addressing issues and escalating as appropriate.

Lead, serve and contribute to various organizational committees.

Assist in the management of the annual technology budget, make recommendations regarding spending priorities, and monitor related expenditures.

Maintain a mastery of assigned software and hardware in order to provide high quality workflows and/or configurations that promote optimal product efficiencies for the users.

Make recommendations regarding the improvement of overall department efficiency through training and education and facilitate training to key users for assigned applications.

Lead successful implementations of the systems by conducting system configuration, acceptance testing, and follow-up support and training, as needed.

Collaboratively develop documentation and training materials with the organization’s training department required to support deployment and internal/ external training.

Continuous skill development in the clinical technology and applications catalogue.

Identify and recommend business process improvements to make end users more efficient.

Perform other related duties, as assigned

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or 7+ years of equivalent experience, required.

Minimum of five years of experience working as a systems or applications analyst/specialist. Previous clinical and/or healthcare application and technology experience desired.

Proven project management skills.
Self-motivated with excellent written oral and communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Demonstrated experience in leading developing clinical technology and business work flows.
Understanding of technology systems, databases and application interfaces.
Understanding of clinical applications such as PACS, EMR/EHR and Practice Management a plus.
