Under the direction of the Director of Ancillary Services, the Hand Therapy Manager provides leadership and general administrative oversight for Summit’s Hand Therapy program and operations. The position manages performance of the program, providers and support staff at various sites in alignment with established strategies and goals, delivery of quality care to hand therapy patients, continuous progression toward Summit’s vision.
This role will also directly participate in the orthopedic care and treatment of patients by planning, interpreting, and implementing specific hand therapy treatment programs.
Role will be based at our Vadnais Heights Campus but will travel to other Summit locations as needed.
Manage the day-to-day hand therapy program and site operations to include employee/provider staffing and supervisory duties, including interviewing and hiring employees/providers; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees/providers; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and ensuring the completion of required paperwork, records, documents, timecards, etc.
Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the staff/providers of assigned sites to ensure the highest level of care is consistently delivered
Direct the orientation, training and on-going development of new and present employees/providers in the processes and methods required to achieve the practice’s standards for quality, quantity, and safety.
Regularly assess clinical and operational workflows to achieve standardization and recommends applicable hand therapy policies and procedures to achieve compliance. Collaborates with Hand Service Line team to achieve organizational goals and objectives
Ensure that all patient concerns arising from the assigned service locations and team members are addressed in an effective, compassionate and timely manner.
Manage the Hand Therapy budget preparing and analyzing financial information, comparing actual performance to budgeted performance, and overseeing and/or approving expenses. Prepare and analyze reports regarding practice operation as well as the status of goals, objectives and utilization of services.
Complies with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements by staying current with existing and new legislation and advises management on needed actions.

Masters or better in Occupational Therapy
Bachelors or better in Occupational Therapy
3 year: Minimum of 3-5 years of Hand Therapy experience, preferably in an outpatient orthopedics environment.
