The Infection/Quality/Risk Manager is responsible for developing and managing a quality program to identify risk, prevent infection and maintain a safe environment in the surgery centers. The Infection/Quality/Risk Manager will lead, facilitate and advise the internal quality assurance process improvement program for the surgery centers. The Infection/Quality/Risk Manager will have oversite of life safety, education, and credentialing. The Infection/Quality/Risk Manager reviews, analyzes and trends all occurrence reports for the surgery centers. Ensures the integration of quality management into the performance improvement process. Monitors infection control and risk management programs for the surgery center. Maintains in-depth knowledge and assists in the review and revision of policies and procedures to maintain compliance with Federal and State ASC rules and regulations. Is responsible for advising management on all potential sources of loss and making recommendations to improve patient care and reduce or minimize losses. Monitors sterilization/disinfection processes to minimize risk of infections.

1. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota.
2. Current BLS & ACLS certification
3. Degree in Nursing with a minimum of five years’ clinical experience.
4. Minimum of three years’ perioperative experience.
5. Previous ambulatory surgery experience desirable, previous risk management experience preferred.
6. Advanced computer literacy.
7. Previous supervisory / management experience preferred
8. Affiliation(s) with professional representative organizations preferred
9. Professional discretion, diplomacy, and independent judgment when working with others.
10. Flexibility to adjust to changes in daily circumstance and/or environment (site of service).
11. Intimate understanding of the scope of practice of all staff working within the center, patient flow, surgical outcomes, regulatory responsibilities, and principles of safe patient care.
12. Strong understanding of clinical risk management and infectious disease processes as it relates to ambulatory surgery centers.
13. Strong knowledge of Federal and State rules and regulations governing the operations of ambulatory surgery centers.
14. Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks and activities, maintain deadlines and reporting requirements.
15. Good written and verbal communication skills.
16. Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
17. Data analysis and critical thinking skills.
18. Visual acuity: able to read printed and monitor-displayed script.
19. Able to maintain extensive sitting, moderate standing, and full range of motion.
20. Auditory function (with or without hearing assistance) to listen to and understand verbal communication.
21. Physically able to perform CPR.
22. Able to lift a minimum of 25#.
23. Immunization and or titers as required by the surgery center
