The Nursing Assistant reports directly to the Site Manager at the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The Nursing Assistant may provide direct hands on care and perform delegated nursing care tasks set forth by the Board of Nursing in administrative rules. In surgery, the Nursing Assistant may work under the supervision of a perioperative registered nurse. The licensed nurse may need to limit the range of tasks based on patient needs, situation, or available resources and shall supervise all nursing tasks, functions, and activities.
The Nursing Assistant works collaboratively with the perioperative, pre- and post-op nursing staff, Clerical staff and Material Management.

Requirements
1. Previous Nursing Assistance experience desirable.
2. Current BCLS certification required will be provided at no cost to the Nursing Assistant
3. Good Customer Service skills - Works and communicates with clients and staff to satisfy their expectations.
4. Flexibility - The ability to prioritize practical clinical functions and manage time without direct supervision
5. Good mental and physical health
6. Basic computer literacy
7. Visual Acuity to read and transcribe digital and printed data
8. Affiliation with professional organizations promoted.
9. Willing learner and team member
10. Previous ambulatory surgery center experience desirable.
11. Qualified caregiver as reported by Minnesota Department of Health Background Study
12. Has been trained in and applies Safe Patient Handling Techniques
