Under the direct supervision of the Revenue Cycle Director, the Patient Financial Services Manager will be responsible for oversight of the Patient Financial Services Coordinators.

Provides experience and expertise in payer policies and protocol. Educates/trains team to ensure a high level of organizational competency.

Provides leadership to the PFS team members by ensuring efficient and effective daily workflow. Oversees initial orientation and manages ongoing productivity, competencies and productivity of team.

Develops and manages ongoing review of department processes, procedures, and workflows and identify opportunities for improvement based on organizational and industry standards.

Work closely with revenue cycle team members to continuously review department processes, procedures, and workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.

Maintain current knowledge regarding third-party and first-party payment procedures and regulations.

Work with clinical leadership and provider teams to create cohesive order placement and authorization workflows.

Attend and present at service line and team member meetings.

Create, maintain, and update all payer guideline grids.

Manage and monitor patient pre-collection volumes.

Oversee the insurance bundling and special surgical services billing and claim processing.

Maintains a high level of professionalism when contacting patients, insurance carriers, facilities and clinics and other 3rd party vendors while adhering to HIPAA regulations and privacy practices.

Responsible for training, monitoring and auditing team productivity and effectiveness.

Monitor and maintain staff time sheets. Adding and deleting punches and processing PTO requests.

Perform other duties as assigned based on needs of department and/or company.

Requirements
Bachelors degree in related field preferred, or comparable level of experience or education/experience.

Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a Business Office setting is required. Experience leading teams in a health care environment is ideal. Experience in working both prior authorizations and front office is preferred. Experienced in Excel, Word and other Office programs.
